In the heart of the kingdom, the lion ruled supreme. His mighty roar echoed across the land, striking fear in the hearts of all who heard it. The creatures of the land bowed before him in awe of his power and majesty. He had claimed complete authority over his domain, until the day she arrived.

She was adorned with blossoms, and her beauty seemed to hold a magical charm. As she approached the lion, his pupils dilated in recognition of meeting his match. For the first time, he became aware of his massive mane protection a new found vulnerability beating within his chest.

Her soft and graceful presence left him stunned as his muscles froze and his breath held. It was not until she ran her fingers along his lips and her hands through his fur that his body gave permission to breath again.

Her sorcery seemed to pierce; undeterred by his mane of armor. His heart swelled and then fear took hold.

“How dare she steal my strength!”, he roared. In a vengeful lunge, he tore her heart from her chest, leaving her silent and bloody. The unyielding eyes of the dead pierced him in return, bringing him to his knees as the life drained from his own body.

“It is she who has ruined us,” he tried to convince himself. “It is she who has brought us to death.”

Never allowed to speak her own words, it was the lions legacy that lived on. “It is she who has ruined us, It is she who ate the apple first.”
